TOPIC: THE RIGHT WAY

TEXT: JOHN 14:6. (Joh 14:6) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

INTRODUCTION:

God has always had a pattern in everything he does especially in dealing with man kind, prov. 16:25. (Pro 16:25) There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

WHAT IS PATTERN?

Something from which a copy is made; a model or outline; it could also be termed a template

WHAT HAS BEEN THE PATTERN OF GOD?

1. God has a pattern through which the world was created (Gen. 8:22)
2. He has a pattern he set aside to live with a man from the foundation of the world
3. When man sin and disobey God, God set a pattern through which he was going to save the people in Noah times. (Gen.6:13:22)
4. Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 19:1ff)
5. God establish a covenant with the Israelites and set a pattern for them to worship him. (Exo. 19:1ff)
6. Even when they sinned in the wilderness god gave Moses a pattern that anyone bitten by snake if only, he or she could look at the serpent on the tree would be save. (Num. 21:1-9)

At each of these times, anyone who did not worship or follow God by these pattern or standard set by God will die. (Due. 5:32; 2Sam.6:1-7 Uzzah, lev.10:1-2 Nadab& Abihu)

Any who want to worship God today most seek to do so according to the pattern god himself has set

THE RIGHT WAY TO WORSHIP, JOHN 4:24

TYPES OF WORSHIP

1. Ignorant worship acts 17: 20-23,30; Rom.10:2-3
2. Vain worship. Mat. 15:7-9
3. Will worship.  Col. 2:20-23. (Col 2:20)  Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

(Col 2:21)  (Touch not; taste not; handle not; (Col 2:22)  Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

(Col 2:23)  Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.

THE RIGHT WAY TO SALVATION

John 15: 1-7. “(John 15:4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

(Joh 15:5)  I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

(John 15:6)  If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.

(John 15:7)  If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”

• Salvations today are no longer according to the pattern of God, there are so many ways people are following for salvation today, the question is, are all these ways the right way? “NO” Rom.10:14
• Does it matter the way we follow for our salvation? The answer to this is “YES”. Mat. 7:21-22. (Mat 7:21) “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

(Mat 7:22)  On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’

(Mat 7:23)  And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

• Christ is the right way to God because is only through him we are reconcile with God. 2Cor.5:17-18

GODS PLAN FOR MANS SALVATION

Now that you have heard me, Rom.10:17

1. Belief john 8:24; Heb. 11:6; Rom 10:10
2. Repent of your sins acts 2:38; Luke 13:3&5
3. Confess your faith in Christ. Rom.10:9-10; Matth.10:32-33
4. Be baptized (immersed) Acts. 2:38; Rom. 6:3-4; Acts 22:16

And continue to serve Him faithfully according to the pattern or standard He has set for us. Deut.5:32; Rev.22:18-19, James 2:10

CONCLUSION:

Anything done outside Christ is not the right way Christ is the center of our faith.

2 John 9 (2Jn 1:9) whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
