THEME: GOD CALLS THE THINGS WHICH ARE NOT (ROM.4:17)
TOPIC: GOD SEEK SUCH TO WORSHIP HIM
TEXT: JOHN 4:21-23
INTRODUCTION:
We are going to combine these two texts together and bring out the concept of this theme and topic.
(Rom 4:17 ISV) As it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations.” Abraham acted in faith when he stood in the presence of God, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence things that don’t yet exist.
(Rom 4:18 ISV) Hoping in spite of hopeless circumstances, he believed that he would become “the father of many nations,” just as he had been told: “This is how many descendants you will have.”
God call the things which are not. Colossians 1:16-17 NKJV
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist
(Joh 1:3 KJV) All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.
(Heb 11:3 ISV) By faith we understand that time was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are invisible.
GOD SEEK SUCH TO WORSHIP HIM: (Joh 4:21 ISV) Jesus told her, “Believe me, dear lady, the hour is coming when you Samaritans will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
(Joh 4:22 ISV) You don’t know what you’re worshiping. We Jews know what we’re worshiping, because salvation comes from the Jews.
(Joh 4:23 ISV) Yet the time is coming, and is now here, when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Indeed, the Father is looking for people like that to worship him.
(Joh 4:24 ISV) God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
HONOUR GOD WITH YOUR SUBSTANCE (Bible Text: Mark 14:3-9)
(Mar 14:3 ISV) While Jesus was in Bethany sitting at the table in the home of Simon the leper, a woman arrived with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume made from pure nard. She broke open the jar and poured the perfume on his head.
(Mar 14:4 ISV) Irritated, some who were there asked one another, “Why was the perfume wasted like this?
(Mar 14:5 ISV) This perfume could have been sold for more than 300 denarii and the money given to the destitute.” So they got extremely angry with her.
(Mar 14:6 ISV) But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing for me,
(Mar 14:7 ISV) because you will always have the destitute with you and can help them whenever you want, but you will not always have me.
(Mar 14:8 ISV) She has done what she could. She poured perfume on my body in preparation for my burial.
(Mar 14:9 ISV) I tell you with certainty, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”

the first fruits of all thine increase.”
Lesson Aim
To teach the children to cultivate the habit of giving back to
God
money and resources He has given them.
Central Truth -When you give to God, He Will give to you.
The bible makes it clear that honoring God with our substance IS
an essential part of our worship to God. God wants you to give freely,
willingly, cheerfully and bountifully, not forcefully, reluctantly, grudgingly
or sparingly, or with ulterior motive.
Worshipping God with your substance or possession shows that you acknowledge
Him as the source and owner of all that you have. It also reveals that you
acknowledge yourself as a mere steward or caretaker of God’s wealth or
resources.

A. Meaning of substance in this context-Your substance can be refer as those things the lord has spoken to become in your life starting with

2. Your substance: all the material blessings that God has bless you with, sacrificial offering, freewill offering and financial support to someone.
Proverbs 3:9-10 is the popular scripture that tells us about honouring God with your wealth as a believer, but there is much more to this. First, is the fact that wealth does not necessarily have to be of financial or material value – although, financial value sums up too. In Genesis, Adam’s sons – Cain and Abel grew to be great men. One was a livestock farmer while the other was a crop farmer
All that we have were given to us by God. God call the things which are not.
1. Honor God with Your Time: Every day, we have twenty four (24) hours to ourselves and how we use this time matters to God and ourselves.
2. Honor God with Your Service: Service to God comes in many ways
3. Honor God with Your Love: It’s a beautiful thing to reciprocate God’s love.
4. Honor God with Your Gifts: God values your gifts and talents especially when you use them in amazingly creative ways to honor Him.
5. Honor God with Your Money: Placing money as the final item in this article is intentional. This is because the presence or absence of money is really not an option in honoring God.
B. Why worship God with your substance?
- God commanded it. Mathew 5:42
- It attracts spiritual blessings. Mark 10:21
- It
attracts material blessings. Luke 6:38
C. Importance of giving our substances – - To support full time workers and missionaries. Galatians 6:6
- To assist needy fellow Christians. Galatians 6:10
- It allows wealthy Christians to be able to give support to God’s work. Luke 8:3
- To encourage poor believers to give for God to bless them. 1 Kings 17: 9-16
CONCLUSION:
This is your moment. The time to call things that be not as though they were. Not tomorrow, not when things look better—NOW. You’ve been standing and believing, maybe for a long time. But if you haven’t seen your manifestation, the hard truth is that the problem isn’t on God’s end of the equation—it’s on yours.
We’ve all been there. And it is a fight to get to the other side. That’s why it’s called the fight of faith! There are many things you can do to be sure you’re perfectly aligned for your blessing. But one important step you must take is that which Abraham took to move his promise into manifestation. That step is calling things that be not as though they were.
